Call A Shipyard Corpus Christi For Boat Repairs Today

By Patrick Taylor

The city of Corpus Christi is located right on the Gulf of Mexico, meaning that many people own boats in the area. From small paddle boats used for recreational purposes only to large ships that are used for fishing or other commercial purposes. That is why it makes sense that there is more than one Shipyard Corpus Christi in the area.

Many places along the coast have shipyards, but few have the capabilities of the ones in Corpus. The city also has a very low cost of living compared to other places, meaning that people who move there for this type of work can live comfortably, even if they have a family. There is no state income tax in Texas, so that helps them stretch their paychecks even further, making it a great place to live.

If a person is looking for work in this industry, the many shipyards in Corpus Christi will provide ample opportunities, no matter what their skills. There is a need for supervisors to oversee workers and schedules and ensure the work stays on time and budget. People who can operate heavy machinery are also in need.

Even if you are not a machine operator, you can still find lots of job opportunities, such as an office manager or secretarial positions that keep things running behind the scenes and order all the materials and supplies needed. Even bookkeepers and other office staff are needed to ensure the staff gets paid on time.

There are two main shipyard types in the area. The first is commercial ones, such as the John Bludworth Shipyard. They specialize in large and often complex projects, which means that corporations can come here and get many different jobs done.

A large yard such as this one can do both repairs and builds. Big ships used for carrying cargo or vehicles, such as ferries, are no problem for a place this big. They can also do repairs though, whether it be mechanical or replacing a cracked hull to prevent sinking, just about anything maritime related is possible here, both on the water or a dry dock.

Do not be worried if your boat is much smaller than a barge, though. Even if you own a much smaller vessel, there are yards in the area that can be of service. One such example if the Fulton Yacht Yard, which can do inspections, detailing or maintenance.

Places like this provide consumers like you with a variety of services on site, such as repairing leaks or breaks in the hull, detailing and cleaning barnacles to make the boat look like new, and even mechanical failures that made the engine shut down. If your ship broke down somewhere along the Texas coast, some may be able to come out to you to assess the situation. You may have simply run out of fuel, and they can gas you up. Or maybe it is more serious, requiring a tugboat to tow you back to land and onto a dry dock for repairs.

No matter what the size of your ship or what kind of build or repairs are needed, the Corpus Christi area is home to a wide variety of shipyards. One of them is definitely right for your needs.
